Hannah Hammel

[email protected]Hannah Hammel is a Chicago-based educator, actor, producer, and director originally from New York City. As an educator, Hannah has almost two decades of experience teaching students from toddlers to adults in acting, movement, voice, yoga, storytelling, and imaginative play. She has a particular passion for helping students discover their individual creativity and for fostering imagination, silliness, and joy in her classrooms.
As an actor, she has performed with numerous companies in Chicago and all over the East Coast. Before moving to Chicago, she co-founded and served as Marketing and PR Director of Spicy Witch Productions, a feminist theater company based in New York City. She also spent seven years in Philadelphia working as an actor, teaching artist, and paralegal.
She holds an MFA in acting from Northern Illinois University and a B.A. in English from Haverford College. When she is not making art or teaching littles, she loves cooking, hiking, cross stitch, and doting upon her wonderful daughter, Madeline Rose, and her dog, Felix.
