Claire Durwood

Lead Caregiver/Child Teacher

Claire Durwood, originally from Kansas City, has called Chicago home since 2002 when she began her career serving children, families, and communities as an educator and human development expert. Claire is a classically trained ballet dancer and musical theater artist who currently sings with a community group and integrates music into all her care and services for children.

Claire has a lifelong devotion to ballet, musical theater, and singing having performed in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Once on This Island, Sleeping Beauty, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, in several choirs, and for audiences of children. Claire believes music and our sensory experiences are such important parts of being healthy.

Claire holds a master’s degree from Northwestern University, a master’s degree from North Park University, and a bachelor’s degree from DePaul University. Claire is known for her positivity, knowledge, and silly sense of humor!
