In 2020, Bubbles Academy is ringing in the New Year with the planet in mind! This past fall, our passionate staff spearheaded an effort to make Bubbles Birthday Parties a more eco-friendly event. We’re excited to start implementing changes that will make our parties more sustainable while giving us the opportunity to implement higher quality decorations and supplies.
In addition to providing a one-of-a-kind party experience, we are passionate about sustainability and modeling best practices in eco-friendly education and events! We are transitioning away from helium balloons and single-use plastic decor for our celebrations in favor of providing more sustainable options for decorating our parties. Of course, parties can still count on dedicated party coordinators and assistants, eco-friendly decor, engaging party leaders, and use of our bright and whimsical spaces. Our goal in this initiative is to allow for the personalization of parties through means of decor that have all the beauty and excitement we’ve always provided, but with the added bonus of knowing we are creating less waste for current and future generations.
Here’s a few of the ways we integrate sustainable practices at Bubbles Academy:
- Composting: We have started composting with The Urban Canopy. Combined with recycling, this keeps the majority of event-generated waste out of landfills.
- Recycling: We have been and remain committed to recycling to reduce the waste that goes into landfills.
- Reusable beverage containers: Bubbles parties now provide pitchers of filtered water and lemonade so guests do not need to bring in single use bottles or cans.
- Education: In addition to our own practices, in 2020 we will be sharing educational information for guests on how to host a greener party. This includes information on the amount of food to order to reduce food waste, suggestions and alternatives to goody bags, and other recommendations for a sustainable event such as carpooling and email invites.
By implementing these sustainable changes, our hope is that we will encourage more families as well as future generations to value eco-friendly practices.
